Verses of the Week

Hi! The math that I’ve been doing has a devotional to go along with it, and the verses in today’s were ones that I’d heard or read recently, so I figured I’d share them.

James 1:17- “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” I’ve read this recently in my personal and family devotions.

I Thessalonians 5:18- “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” The people who regularly work with the 4 and 5 year olds on Wednesday nights were on vacation, so I got to help with the little kids and this was their memory verse for that week.

So, the first verse talks about how God gives us good gifts. God never changes or turns on us. The second verse says it’s God’s will for us to give thanks in EVERYTHING. Even when things go wrong, or are hard, or we don’t understand, God has a perfect will and is at work. He’ll work out everything for the best. And all of us have been so blessed. No matter what the situation, I’m sure we can all thank God for something. In America, we have it so good. We need to thank God for His blessings and not take them for granted.
