Verse of the Week

Wow, they just redesigned WordPress again!

Well, I think I know what verse I need to post because I just caught myself complaining.

Philippians 2:14 “Do all things without murmurings and disputings.”

I really need to work on this myself. It’s so easy to get caught up in either of these, especially if you have siblings. But that’s not an excuse. We can’t choose how others act, only how we do. Living in America, I know that I personally am so blessed! God has given me a wonderful family and friends, plenty of possessions, conveniences and food. But most importantly, He gave His life so that I could be saved from my sin. He offers this free gift to anyone who will have faith in Him. We don’t earn it by doing good. It’s fully by His grace! I didn’t have to do anything to merit His grace, or it wouldn’t be grace! Considering all this, I have no good reason whatsoever to complain. I need to “Count my blessings.” Thanksgiving is coming up. We have a plaque that says, “Thanksgiving is one day. Thanks Living is all year long.” Now about, disputing. Dispute means to argue about something or discuss something heatedly. Now, all you with siblings probably know how easy this can be. But God wants us to act lovingly toward one another. If we actually stopped to think about what we were fighting about, we would probably realize that it doesn’t actually matter. Eventually, everything in this world will be destroyed, when Christ returns and makes the new Heaven and new earth. The things here don’t last forever and life is too short to argue over stupid stuff. Your heavenly rewards (if you have trusted Christ as your Savior) will be far greater if you choose not to fight than if you prove the fact that Harry was wearing round glasses, not square ones. (Yeah, Harry Potter example. I’ve never actually fought over that. Haha.) Hm hm! Back to the point. If we pray for God to help and are conscious of the fact that we struggle with this, if we do, that we will stop doing these so much. (I speak for myself!) I hope this encouraged you. Sorry it was a little long.

  1. Thank you for the reminder. I fell and broke my wrist and will have to have surgery and the doctor will put in plates and pins tomorrow.

Please pray for my complete healing and that I will do all things without murmuring and complaining! Thank you!!!
