Verse of the Week

Hey, girls! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been reading this really good book called Preparing to Be a Help Meet by Debi Pearl. So, this Verse of the Week is inspired by that book.

Proverbs 31:11-12 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”

If you’re a single girl, now is the time to prepare to be a good wife. You’re not going to suddenly be an amazing wife just because you get married. You have to work on yourself now. Here are some ways you can prepare to be a good wife:

*Learn how to cook and clean.

*Work on submitting to your parents. You will one day be under the authority of your husband.

*Work on being selfless.

*Be busy serving. As the book put it, “As you run fast and hard after Jesus, look to the left and the right and marry the man who is running beside you.”

*Learn a lot about a lot of different subjects. It may be useful later.

*Pray for your future husband. And yourself.

*Be willing to seek advice and to listen to those in authority over you concerning relationships.

These are just a few things, but if you’re an unmarried woman, or even a teen girl, I would totally recommend reading this book.

  2. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about ways I can start to prepare to be a good wife, so this post came at a good time! I’m going to look into getting that book 😀

    • Thanks! I’m glad this was encouraging to you. We just had a series on the home and family at church this month, and I was reading this book, so it was something that was on my mind lately. You should get the book; it’s really good! 🙂
