Hey, girls! I am sooo excited for this post! So, for a while, I’d been wanting to re-wig Maridelle, because her hair had gotten kind of ratty and it was hard to make it look nice for pictures.
Behold….
Yeah, kinda frizzy.
Anywaaay, I’d really been liking the Berry Swirl wig from Beautifully Custom, but whenever I went on the website, it was sold out. But they were doing a sale a few months ago where they were selling wigs with slight defects for a cheaper price. I stayed up till 1 in the morning my time for the 3 nights of the sale, and on the third night, it was there! My mom had said that if it popped up in the sale, she would get it for me for Christmas, so when I saw it, I got super excited!
Introducing the new Maridelle Corina Stirling!!
She now has the Berry Swirl Paradise wig from Beautifully Custom.
I love it! It’s like she just went and got her hair dyed.
The wig has obre highlights that go from magenta-y purple to bright pink.
It’s nice and long and wavy. (The bit of frizz can be tamed, it just comes from existing.)
Now, for her photoshoot with her new hair!
I love how you can see the details of the hair in this one!
I think this one is really pretty.
I might make this one her profile picture.
Love the natural effect on this one!
I absolutely LOVE this one and the next one!
And to finish off, splaying out of the hair.

Hey, everyone! I had some really cool devotions last Thursday, so I wanted to share them with you. Since this isn’t really focused on one particular verse or passage, I changed the title. 🙂
First, my one devotional talked about the gift of myrrh to Jesus. Myrrh was used to make people smell good, used for healing, and used to make dead people smell a little better. It showed how Jesus healed people in His life, and also it showed His death and resurrection (how He healed our sins!).
Two verses to go along with this:
“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11
“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.” Romans 6:10
Next was my book about 2nd Peter (written by Rand Hummel. He’s pretty cool. Check out his devotionals.) It was focused on 2nd Peter 1:16-18.
“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.”
It’s talking about how Peter witnessed Jesus’ transfiguration. This validates what Peter wrote (through the inspiration of God) in the Bible. He saw Jesus’ heavenly glory and heard the voice of God. Can you imagine hearing the voice of God?
I also love Jesus’ response to Peter. Peter had wanted to set up tabernacles to worship Jesus, Moses, and Elijah. Worshiping Moses and Elijah would have been idolatry. God says, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” Peter, James and John were rightly terrified and fell on their faces. You’d expect Jesus to reprimand Peter for what he said, but He just touched them and said, “Arise, and be not afraid.” Such a gentle and loving response! I can see it in my mind. We should also have the same fear/respect for God that the disciples had when they heard God’s voice. Even though we don’t audibly hear God’s voice today, He speaks to us in more ways than I realized. One of the questions in the book asked how God speaks to us today and to give examples from my life. I realized actually that God had shown me things through books and a blog post on spiritual growth recently! I’m thankful for the many ways God uses to speaks to believers (His Word, the Holy Spirit, our consciences, people, circumstances). Then, I read Psalm 138. It was really neat. I’ll do another Verses of the Week post to expound on that. 🙂
I know this post was kind of long, but I hope you got some encouragement out of it.
Have a Happy New Year!!!!

Hey, everyone in the world! This is Lorie Andrews!!!!
Do you like my amazing Christmas hat? (Actually, it’s a sock I borrowed from Mom, but hey, it works.) You see this Christmas tree, and all these presents? There’s just one problem. I haven’t put any presents under there, because I don’t have any money. 😦
But….
I have an idea! I’m sure I could scrounge up something around the house to give to the other kids.
Hey, this should be great! I’m pretty sure this is just a junk box, anyway. No one will miss this stuff.
Wow, look at all this stuff!
The dolls will be great for Shayne and Lacie, and the rolling pin will be great for Maridelle! And I can give the paints to Chental!
“Umm, what are you doing?”
“Oh, uh, nothing, Bella!” I hope she can’t see all this stuff behind me.
“Why are you going through my Christmas presents for the family?”
“Oh, these are your presents for the family? I thought this was a junk box. I was looking for presents for the family since I don’t have any money. I’m sorry, Bella.”
“I forgive you. And hey, I have an idea!”
“You don’t have to spend money just to give the family presents. You could make stuff. You could write notes to each member of the family telling them why you appreciate them.”
“That’s a great idea! Why didn’t I think of that? I’m going to get some paper!”
“I’ll start with my sister.”
Don’t I have such nice handwriting? JK, no I don’t.
I’m so glad to have presents for my family!
I hope you all have a very merry Christmas! (Now I speak for all of us.) 🙂

“I don’t want to bury her. She doesn’t deserve it,” Ginny said.
“That’s true. I just thought writing ‘ASK’ on her grave would be ironic,” I said.
“Well, here!” Rupert said. He grabbed sticks and made the word “ASK” on the ground next to Arlene.
We actually ripped pieces of cloth from her clothes to use as bandages. It was really disgusting because she was in terrible shape, but we were kind of desperate. Then, we went back to the shelters. I wanted to get away from that body as quickly as possible. I never wanted to see Arlene Smith-Kensington again.
After that, I don’t remember how many days passed before people discovered us. Maybe three or four. By that time, Ginny could walk a little better, but she used one of us a crutch at all times. Rupert felt better, too, but his side still bothered him.
At what sounded like a whirring helicopter propeller, we went out to the beach to see if rescue really had arrived. A helicopter stood in the sand. A black woman and a woman with short blonde curls rushed up to us.
“Hello, I’m Chental Vickers, and this is Jaicelynn Starr. We’re with the Coast Guard. Are you all right?” the black woman said.
“Well, sort of,” I said. “We all have some wounds and Rupert got pushed off the mountain the other day.”
“Pushed off a mountain?” Jaicelynn said.
“It’s a long story. One of the people here was a murderer and killed four other people, until we finally killed her,” I said.
“Oh my! Where are the bodies?” Chental asked.
“I know where 3 out of 5 bodies are. I’m not sure if Arlene buried Daniella or if she’s still where I found her. My aunt is buried. The killer, and my sister aren’t. They must be awful by now. I really don’t want to see them, especially Natalie.”
“That’s your sister?” Jaicelynn asked.
“Yes.”
“And who are you three?”
“I’m Shayne Jackson. This is my sister, Ginny, and Rupert Rutter.”
“Well, we’re pleased to meet you. I just wish it was under better circumstances. We thought the storm killed everyone, until we discovered movement on this island. This island is several nautical miles away from the initial crash. We’ll just find the bodies, and then we’ll send another helicopter to retrieve them later.”
I told Chental and Jaicelynn where to find the bodies. They came back in ten minutes. Then, we all boarded the helicopter. Once we got to the search and rescue place, they booked a flight home for us. I was so excited to see Mom and Dad that the next few hours hardly felt real.

Our parents stood outside the gate at the airport when we arrived.
“Mom! Dad!” I yelled. I was never so happy to see them in my life. I ran to them. Ginny followed slower on crutches.
For a while, I did nothing but cry and hug Mom. I heard her crying, too. Thankfully, the Coast Guard people informed them about Aunt Lorelei and Natalie’s deaths so I didn’t have to. Mom pulled back to look at me, tears still shining in her green eyes.
“Oh, my sweet girl.” She hugged me again then let go to hug Ginny.
“Daddy!” I threw myself into his arms.
“I’m so glad to have you back, beautiful.”
One Year Later
“Come on, Shayne! It’s time to go!” Ginny called. She entered my room through the open doorway.
“Go where?” I said.
“To get Rupert, of course!”
“Oh, I forgot that was today!”
Ginny giggled.
“I bet you’re excited,” I said in a teasing tone of voice.
Ginny blushed. “As a matter of fact, I am.”
“Well, so am I. I’m positive our parents will make better foster parents than Miss Queenie did.”
“Um, Shaynie, I was wondering something.”
“Yeah?”
“Could I … borrow your blue Converse?” Ginny asked.
I almost didn’t expect that. Ginny hadn’t asked to borrow anything of mine since we got home.
“Sure. And I don’t wear them that much. You go ahead and keep them until I want to borrow them back.”
“Thanks, Shayne!”
“No problem, little sister.”
The End
