Verses of the Week

Here are some great verses from two different passages of Scripture. They go together, so I decided to do a post on them all.

Ephesians 2:8-9 –

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Titus 3:5-

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

So, these verses are talking about how we are saved from our sins. There is nothing we can do to make ourselves right with God, because we’re not perfect. We’re sinful. But, God, in His mercy, became the Man Jesus to die and rise again to save us from our sins. His dying on the cross and rising again finished it. There aren’t any works we can add to allow ourselves to go to Heaven. His blood was enough. I sure am glad and praise the Lord for that, because, I know if it was up to me, I’d fail. Glory and praise to my merciful, perfect God, Who loved sinners enough to give His life for them!

  1. I have wanted to do this since last week when you posted the other one. But I can’t think of a good verse to start off with a good one for non-believers, do you have an suggestions?
