Hi, girls! I found something I hadn’t really noticed in my devos today.
Proverbs 18:10-12 -“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.”
So, I noticed how, first it talks about the safety of the righteous. They trust in the Lord for safety. Worldly people trust in their riches for security. But then they are destroyed. They are prideful and think they don’t need God, but they’re wrong. This brings humiliating defeat. We need to trust in God, not in how much riches or possessions we have. Our possessions could be lost in an instant. (Proverbs 23:5) God is eternal and unchanging. He’s the one we need to trust in. Notice how money says, “In God we trust.” Just a kind of neat thing I thought about.
